Since its revival in 2017, the Rado Captain Cook collection has grown into a cornerstone of the brand, offering a range of sizes, materials, and styles. Now, Rado celebrates its role as Official Timing Partner of European Cricket with a special edition that adds subtle cricket-inspired touches to the beloved diver.

Design and Details

The watch is based on the 43mm stainless steel Captain Cook, measuring 49.8mm lug-to-lug and 16.2mm thick, with a robust 300m water resistance. The polished case is paired with a yellow gold PVD-coated rotating bezel featuring a blue high-tech ceramic insert, laser engraved with gold numerals. A screw-down crown in gold PVD and a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating complete the package. The caseback is engraved with 'Official Timing Partner European Cricket.'

The dial is the focal point, with a blue gradient inspired by European Cricket's visual identity, depicting a cricket pitch from above. Above the Rado logo, three gold dots represent the stumps, and the rotating anchor logo sits against a red background reminiscent of a cricket ball. The minute track echoes the stitched seam, and the seconds hand has a red tip. Applied gold indices and broad hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova for visibility.

Movement and Performance

Powering the watch is the automatic calibre R763, based on the ETA C07.611 Powermatic 80. It features an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring, operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and offers an 80-hour power reserve. Rado regulates the movement in up to 5 positions for enhanced accuracy.

Straps and Pricing

The watch comes on a stainless steel bracelet with gold PVD center links and a titanium folding clasp. Additionally, a dark blue NATO-style textile strap and a black rubber strap are included, each with gold-colored hardware. A dedicated pouch stores all three options.
