Albishorn Marinagraph Classic and Classic Fumé: A Fresh Take on a Modern Regatta Chronograph
Albishorn Marinagraph: Round Two of an Imaginary Vintage
Albishorn, a young independent Swiss maison founded in 2024 by Sébastien Chaulmontet, has made a name for itself with “imaginary vintage” timepieces—concepts rooted in the past but never actually produced. Following the debut of the Marinagraph, a robust skin diver inspired by the 1958 America’s Cup, the brand now presents two new iterations: the Classic and Classic Fumé. These models retain the signature regatta countdown complication while introducing fresh dial options and a sapphire bezel.
A Nod to Sailing Heritage
The Marinagraph draws inspiration from the legendary Columbia, the American defender of the 1958 America’s Cup. Its design echoes the brand’s first release, the Maxigraph chronograph, but with a sportier, dive-ready personality. The new versions maintain the same case dimensions—39mm in diameter, 13mm thick, and 47.7mm lug-to-lug—but swap the aluminum insert for a domed black sapphire crystal bezel with luminescent markings. This change enhances durability while preserving the vintage aesthetic.
Patented Regatta Countdown Function
At the heart of the Marinagraph lies a patented 10-minute retrograde countdown, activated by a red anodized aluminum monopusher on the left side of the case. This “destro” layout places the pusher at 9 o’clock and the crown at 10 o’clock, allowing the thumb to operate the chronograph efficiently. When the countdown reaches zero, the hand freezes, while the central seconds hand continues running—a clever solution to avoid confusion at the starting line.
Dial Variations: Classic and Classic Fumé
The Classic features a sunburst black dial, while the Classic Fumé sports a white lacquered finish with a gradient effect. Both dials prioritize legibility, with applied markers (triangles at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, and circles elsewhere) filled with Super-LumiNova. The retrograde arc, located in the lower left quadrant, is rendered in blue and red, with the final five minutes highlighted in red. A running indicator at 3 o’clock adds a practical touch.
Movement and Specifications
Powering the Marinagraph is the proprietary calibre ALB01 A, a heavily modified Sellita base (rooted in the Valjoux 7750 architecture) that has been rotated to accommodate the destro layout. This automatic monopusher chronograph operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, boasts 25 jewels, and delivers a robust 64-hour power reserve. The caseback is solid steel, engraved with a 12-foot yacht silhouette, and water resistance is rated at 100 meters.
Pricing and Availability
Each colorway is limited to 99 pieces. The Marinagraph on a rubber strap (two straps included) is priced at CHF 3,950 (excluding tax), while the steel bracelet version—also supplied with two rubber straps—retails for CHF 4,400. Sales begin on August 14, 2026, at 09:00 EDT and 15:00 EST, exclusively online at Albishorn-Watches.ch.

Buying Tips and Authenticity Notes
When purchasing an Albishorn Marinagraph, verify the limited-edition number and request the original packaging and papers. As an independent brand, Albishorn does not have an extensive dealer network; ensure you buy from the official website to avoid counterfeits. The patented countdown function is a unique selling point—check that it operates smoothly before finalizing your purchase.
