MeisterSinger Edition Unitas 1Z Blue: A Grand Feu Enamel Masterpiece
Introducing the MeisterSinger Edition Unitas 1Z Blue
For over two decades, MeisterSinger has championed a relaxed approach to timekeeping with its signature single-hand watches. The German brand's latest release, the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue, marks a significant milestone as its first timepiece to feature a colored enamel dial. This limited edition builds upon the success of the earlier Edition Unitas 1Z, which revived the original 2004 model, and now ventures into new aesthetic territory.
Design and Case
The Edition Unitas 1Z Blue is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case that blends brushed sides with a polished bezel and lugs. This classical proportioning allows the movement to fill nearly the entire case interior. A signed fluted crown, bearing MeisterSinger's fermata emblem, enhances the vintage character. Sapphire crystals on both front and back provide clear views of the dial and movement, while the exhibition caseback is individually numbered. The watch offers 50 meters of water resistance.
The First Colored Enamel Dial
While the earlier white enamel edition paid homage to the original 2004 model, the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue explores new ground with a light blue grand feu enamel dial. Traditional grand feu techniques involve applying finely ground enamel powder to a copper base and firing it multiple times at temperatures near 800°C. The result is a dial with remarkable depth and luminosity, featuring black hour numerals, medium-blue accents for 30-minute intervals and elapsed minutes on the inner scale, plus subtle red touches.
As with all MeisterSinger watches, the dial is organized around the single-hand display, with double-digit hour numerals and a peripheral minute track for reading time to within about five minutes. A long, heat-blued steel hand completes the display.
Movement and Specifications
Powering the watch is the manually wound ETA/Unitas 6497, originally a pocket watch movement that fits perfectly in the 40mm case. It receives decorative upgrades including Geneva stripes, blued screws, and a traditional swan-neck fine-adjustment regulator. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, it provides a power reserve of approximately 46 hours.
Strap and Availability
The watch is presented on a mahogany calfskin leather strap with crocodile embossing, secured by a double-folding clasp. Limited to just 25 pieces, the MeisterSinger Edition Unitas 1Z Blue will be available from September 2026 at a price of EUR 6,990.
Buying Tips and Authenticity Notes
Given the limited production of 25 pieces, collectors should be prepared for high demand. Verify the individually numbered caseback and the unique light blue enamel dial to ensure authenticity. The hand-wound movement with visible decoration through the exhibition caseback is a hallmark of this edition. For those seeking a distinctive single-hand dress watch with traditional craftsmanship, this is a rare opportunity.
