British independent watchmaker Abinger Watches has expanded its lineup with the PHANTOM, a tactical evolution of its popular NIMROD model. Design and Build

The PHANTOM retains the compact 38mm case (38.5mm with bezel) and ergonomic proportions of the NIMROD, but introduces a sand-blasted black DLC coating for a non-reflective finish. The 120-click unidirectional bezel features a black DLC insert with lumed 12-hour markers, allowing for tracking a second time zone. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on the underside, ensuring clarity in bright conditions.

Two Distinct Versions: LUNA and NOX

Abinger offers the PHANTOM in two configurations. The LUNA features a fully lumed C3 dial that appears cream-white in daylight and glows emerald after dark, providing exceptional low-light visibility. The NOX, on the other hand, sports a deep matte black dial with raised C3 lume blocks and heavily lumed sword hands, creating a striking geometric look against a stealthy backdrop.

Movement and Performance

Inside the PHANTOM beats the Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement, regulated to -10/+15 seconds per day, with a 42-hour power reserve. The screw-down crown and robust case construction ensure 200 metres of water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and snorkeling. The watch comes on a custom black FKM rubber strap with matching DLC hardware.

UK Assembly and Availability

In a milestone for the brand, the PHANTOM is the first Abinger model assembled in the United Kingdom, enhancing quality control and after-sales support.
