Since its modern revival in 2016, Fears has grown its collection significantly, but the Brunswick Jump Hour quickly became a signature piece. Introduced in 2023, this model was developed in partnership with Christopher Ward under the Alliance of British Watch and Clock Makers. It combined Fears' classic Brunswick case with Christopher Ward's in-house jump-hour module. Now, as the model line concludes, Fears has enlisted British watch enthusiast Andrew Morgan to design a fitting send-off: the Andrew Morgan Watches x Fears Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour 'Ultimus'.

A Design That Bridges Eras

The 'Ultimus' retains the Brunswick's 1920s Art Deco charm but introduces modern elements, making it the most adventurous Jump Hour yet. The 40.5mm cushion-shaped case in 316L stainless steel measures 38.5mm in width, 12.8mm in thickness (including the domed sapphire crystal with Ardur anti-reflective coating), and 47mm lug-to-lug. The onion-shaped crown, engraved with the Fears cypher, echoes vintage design, while the open caseback reveals the movement and the Andrew Morgan Watches logo on the lug underside.

A Dial Like No Other

The dial is a striking monochromatic display inspired by early 20th-century pocket watches. It features three sapphire layers over the jump-hour mechanism. The center showcases a black minute hand against a textured luminous ceramic surface. The minute track sits on a semi-transparent frosted sapphire, partially revealing the jump-hour disc below. At 12 o'clock, a magnifying window enhances the hour display—a first for the Brunswick Jump Hour collection. By day, the dial appears traditional; by night, the fully lumed ceramic and hour disc emit a radiant blue glow, revealing its modern soul.

Movement and Specifications

Powering the 'Ultimus' is the Christopher Ward JJ01 jumping hour module on a Sellita SW200 base. This automatic movement features 25 jewels, a 38-hour power reserve, and operates at 28,000 vibrations per hour. The rotor, customized by Fears, is decorated with the 'Bristol Flower' motif. The watch offers 100 meters of water resistance, ensuring everyday durability.

Straps and Availability

The 'Ultimus' comes on an 'obsidian black' Epsom calf leather strap with a pin buckle, or a 5-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp. The bracelet option also includes the leather strap. This limited edition will be available for order only from August 10th to August 17th, 2026, with sequential numbering. Prices are set at £4,450 (strap) and £4,750 (bracelet).
