Heritage and Design

This special edition continues the legacy of the original Chronograph 1, designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1972. The watch features a 40.8mm titanium case with a black titanium carbide coating, giving it a sleek, instrument-like appearance. The case is 14.15mm thick and water-resistant to 100 meters, with a sapphire crystal treated with a seven-layer anti-reflective coating on both sides. A screw-down crown and a sapphire caseback engraved with the individual limitation number complete the robust construction.

Dial and Aesthetics

The black dial draws inspiration from the dashboard of the Porsche 911, featuring crisp white numerals, indices, and hands. A tachymeter scale sits on the wide flange, while the chronograph 30-minute counter is positioned at 12 o'clock, the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, and a bilingual German-English day-and-date display at 3 o'clock. The running seconds at 9 o'clock features a green Aero Disc graphic, a nod to the forested surroundings of the Nordschleife. The Nürburgring logo on the dial adds a subtle racing touch, and Super-LumiNova on the hands and indices ensures excellent legibility in low light.

Movement and Performance

Powering the watch is the Porsche Design Calibre WERK 01.140, a Sellita-based automatic chronograph that is COSC-certified as a chronometer. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 48-hour power reserve. The rotor, visible through the caseback, mirrors the design of the anniversary GT3's lightweight wheel, finished in California Gold with a black center-lock hub bearing GT3 lettering.

Strap and Wearability

The watch comes on a strap made from genuine black Porsche interior leather with perforations, a green textile backing, and GT Silver contrast stitching, perfectly matching the car's interior. A green textile hook-and-loop strap is also included, and both can be swapped in seconds thanks to Porsche Design's quick-change system.
