Maen has introduced new stone dial variations for its Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin, joining a growing trend in the watch industry. While stone dials are not new, Maen’s choice of materials and execution sets these models apart. The collection now includes onyx, golden swan, and obsidian snowflake dials, each offering a distinct aesthetic that appeals to different tastes.

Unique Stone Selections

Instead of the commonly seen tiger’s eye, lapis lazuli, or malachite, Maen opted for less conventional stones. Onyx provides a classic, all-black appearance with a subtle texture that adds depth. Golden swan features a mix of rust and black tones, reminiscent of tortoiseshell patterns, making it versatile for daily wear. The obsidian snowflake is the most artistic, with a neutral palette that adds visual interest without being overpowering.

Design and Build

The Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin showcases a minimalist dial layout, allowing the stone to take center stage. New pencil-style hands offer a sharper, more refined look. The rectangular case, measuring 37mm, contributes to a dressier presence, and the thin profile—just 7.1mm—enhances its elegance. This slimness is achieved through the La Joux Perret D101 manual-wind movement, visible through the exhibition caseback, featuring blued screws and Cotes de Geneve finishing.

During hands-on evaluation, the watch felt well-proportioned on the wrist, suitable for a variety of sizes. The bracelet is notably well-executed, a common weak point in this price segment, but here it maintains consistent quality throughout. Each stone dial is limited to 100 pieces initially, available directly from Maen. After the initial batch sells out, the models will transition to a pre-order basis. The price is set at ,619, with sales beginning on August 28.
