Seiko’s iconic 62MAS, the brand’s first dive watch from 1965, remains a cornerstone of modern Prospex design. The Fan-Selected Design

From July 1 to 31, 2025, Seiko invited enthusiasts to vote online and at events for one of four seascape-inspired designs: sunrise orange, daytime blue, late afternoon green, and sunset red. The choice was clear—the daytime blue variant won by a landslide. This edition features a turquoise dial and bezel insert, evoking the clarity of tropical shallows. The wave-patterned dial, shared with the SPB511 limited edition, adds texture and depth, while the luminous markers and hands ensure legibility in any condition.

Case and Bracelet: Built for the Deep

The 40mm stainless steel case is coated with a super-hard treatment for scratch resistance, measuring a manageable 13mm in thickness. The unidirectional bezel rotates smoothly, its metal insert carrying a 60-minute scale in that signature daytime blue. A curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial, while a screw-down crown and solid caseback secure a 300-meter water resistance—plenty for serious diving. The three-link bracelet also receives the hard coating, and its clasp includes Seiko’s slide adjuster for quick length changes over a wetsuit.

Dial Details

The dial’s wave motif is a nod to Seiko’s maritime heritage, here rendered in a cheerful blue that shifts with the light. Applied hour markers and hands are filled with LumiBrite, and a date window sits discreetly at 4:30, maintaining symmetry.

Powering the HBC011 is Seiko’s in-house automatic calibre 6R55, a workhorse movement with 24 jewels, a 21,600 vph beat rate, and a 72-hour power reserve. It offers hacking seconds and a date function, ensuring practical accuracy for everyday wear.
