Stowa Chrono WRC Stage 1: A Rally-Ready Automatic Chronograph

Introducing the Stowa Chrono WRC Stage 1

Stowa has expanded its special series with a new automatic chronograph designed for the World Rally Championship. Following the Flieger Verus Black Forest WRC, this larger timepiece is built for performance and style, available in both steel and black-coated finishes.

Design and Case

The Stowa Chrono WRC Stage 1 features a robust 44mm stainless steel case, measuring 16mm thick and 49mm from lug to lug. Its brushed three-piece construction includes recessed flanks, hollow lugs, and a display caseback. The graduated bezel adds a functional touch, while the black-coated version extends the finish to the crown and chronograph pushers. Both versions are equipped with a sapphire crystal and offer 100 meters of water resistance.

Dial and Legibility

The matte grey and anthracite dial is designed for high legibility, with a fine-grained minutes track and a two-tone layout. Bright WRC orange accents on the central chronograph seconds hand and the 30-minute counter add a sporty contrast, matching the WRC logo above the date window at 6 o'clock. For nighttime visibility, Super-LumiNova BGW9 on the hands and applied hour markers emits a blue glow.

Movement

Powering the watch is the Sellita SW510 in Top Finish, an automatic cam-actuated chronograph calibre based on the robust Valjoux architecture. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides approximately 50 hours of power reserve. The movement includes a quick-set date function and features a practical layout without an hour totaliser.

Bracelet and Pricing

The Stage 1 Steel can be paired with an integrated stainless steel bracelet or a black silicone strap, while the Stage 1 Black comes exclusively with the black silicone strap. The 22mm lug width offers versatility for strap changes. Priced from EUR 2,990 including VAT, the Stowa Chrono WRC Stage 1 is available immediately.

Buying Tips and Authenticity

When purchasing a Stowa Chrono WRC Stage 1, ensure you buy from an authorized dealer to guarantee authenticity. Check the serial number and documentation, and be cautious of heavily discounted offers online. The watch's distinctive design and WRC branding make it a collectible piece for motorsport enthusiasts.
