Bremont Altitude MB Meteor 'Felix the Cat' Edition: A Playful Tribute to Aviation Lore

Introducing the Bremont Altitude MB Meteor “Felix the Cat” Edition

Bremont has added a touch of whimsy to its aviation-inspired Altitude collection with the new Altitude MB Meteor “Felix the Cat” Edition. This limited-edition timepiece, developed in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, celebrates the enduring bond between the iconic cartoon character and the world of aviation. Felix the Cat has long been a symbol of courage, humor, and good luck among pilots, famously appearing on squadron insignia such as that of the VFA-31 Tomcatters, whose emblem features the feline carrying a bomb.

A Case Built for Adventure

The watch retains the robust construction of the Altitude MB Meteor series, featuring Bremont’s signature Trip-Tick case design. This three-part construction sandwiches a knurled central barrel between the case top and caseback, ensuring durability and a distinctive look. For this edition, the case is crafted from Grade 2 titanium and finished with a black DLC coating, giving it a stealthy, tactical appearance. Measuring 42mm in diameter, 12.23mm thick, and 49.3mm lug-to-lug, the watch sits comfortably on the wrist.

True to the Martin-Baker-inspired lineage, the movement is protected by a flexible rubber shock mount and a soft-iron anti-magnetic ring, ensuring reliability in demanding conditions. The signature bi-directional Roto-Click inner bezel is operated via the crown at 4 o’clock, and water resistance is rated at 100 meters.

A Dial Full of Character

The black dial maintains the instrument-style layout of the MB Meteor but adds a playful twist: Felix the Cat is depicted running away with the numeral six, a witty reference to the aviation phrase “Watch Your Six.” Large applied Arabic numerals and indexes are filled with white Super-LumiNova, emitting a blue glow in low-light conditions. Bright yellow accents on the minute track and the ejection-handle counterweight on the seconds hand pay homage to the safety pull handles found on Martin-Baker ejection seats.

Movement and Performance

Powering the Altitude MB Meteor “Felix the Cat” Edition is Bremont’s calibre BB14-AH, based on the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the calibre offers a 68-hour power reserve and drives central hours, minutes, seconds, and a date display at 3 o’clock. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, which features Felix the Cat artwork.

Options, Availability, and Pricing

The watch is available on either a DLC-coated titanium bracelet or a black leather strap, both equipped with a quick-release system for easy swapping. Limited to 500 pieces, the Bremont Altitude MB Meteor “Felix the Cat” is priced at EUR 7,150 on the bracelet and EUR 6,700 on the strap. For more details, visit the official Bremont website.
