Tudor Northflag Returns with GMT and Master Chronometer Certification

The Tudor Northflag Returns

Nearly ten years after its initial launch, Tudor has brought back the Northflag, a model that originally showcased the brand's first in-house movement. The new iteration arrives with a host of upgrades, both inside and out, positioning it as a standout in the current Tudor lineup.

The most notable addition is a GMT function, complemented by refined case detailing and luminous ceramic composite hour markers. The movement now meets Master Chronometer standards, and the price remains accessible at just over US,500.

Design and Case

The Northflag retains its distinctive 1970s-inspired angular steel case and integrated bracelet, measuring 40 mm in diameter and 12.7 mm in height. The case has been refined with chamfered edges on the bezel, case, and bracelet, along with domed sapphire crystals on both front and back. The dial draws inspiration from vintage Tudor Ranger models, featuring an oversized '12' and baton markers, with a fixed 24-hour flange for tracking a second time zone.

This is a true GMT watch, as the movement allows independent adjustment of the local hour hand, which syncs with the date for easy time zone changes in either direction.

Movement and Performance

Inside beats the MT5652-U, a Master Chronometer certified movement tested by METAS. It guarantees accuracy within 0 to +5 seconds per day, surpassing COSC standards, and is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss, thanks to a silicon hairspring and other advanced materials.

The movement offers a 65-hour power reserve and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour.

Price and Availability

The Tudor Northflag (ref. 9140G1A0U) is priced at US,525 and is available now at Tudor boutiques. It comes on a steel bracelet with a T-fit clasp and offers 100 meters of water resistance.

For those seeking a unique, well-priced sports watch with modern technology, the Northflag is a compelling choice.
